ALPHA is a practical introduction to the Christian faith and is open to anyone. It runs as a series of weekly meetings which each involve an informal meal, a talk and small group discussion. By choosing 'Yes' you are not committing to attend but rather indicating that you would like to be invited.
Life Groups are small groups that meet either in homes or at the church during the week. They are an excellent way to develop closer friendships as we follow Jesus together.
Baptism is a sign of the Gospel; God's forgiving and healing love for us in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Being baptised therefore marks a person out as belonging to God. In addition to baptising believeing adults, we also baptise the children of believing parents marking the beginning of the child's discipleship into faith and their inclusion in God's visible church. The sign of baptism is given to children in prayer that the child will in time also come to profess their faith in Jesus too.
Confirmation is an opportunity for those who have been baptised to profess their faith and receive the laying on of hands by the Bishop along with prayers for the fullness of the Holy Spirit's gifts and strength for ministry and perseverance in faith.
Both Baptism and Confirmation are times of great celebration in the church.
